About Us
OUR MISSION
The philosophy of MARS (Mid-Atlantic Rehabilitation Services) is that Substance Use Disorders are a disease. As a result, MARS will seek to provide client-centered and community-based treatment to those impacted by substance use, and will do so at the most cost-effective level. Needs are adjusted based on each area that we serve as we participate in the community and advocate for efficient and effective treatment.
MARS-ATP:
Mid-Atlantic Rehabilitation Services-Addiction Treatment Programs-Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OPT) Services:
MARS-ATP offers two levels of care: Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Traditional Outpatient (OPT). Individuals seeking services are placed into the program that fits their individualized strengths, needs, abilities and preferences. The first step in the treatment process is to schedule an initial comprehensive assessment, which will determine the level of treatment and course of treatment necessary.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP): Group therapy is offered three times a week with an optional multi-family group on Saturday. On average, an individual can expect to attend 12-15 three hour group sessions while attending the IOP. However, the number of sessions may vary depending on the individual’s treatment needs. Individual sessions are offered as needed to all IOP participants. Psychoeducation is provided as part of group sessions in response to clients’ needs. This allows the therapist to adjust therapy groups to the individual’s needs rather than adjusting individuals to the program’s needs. Clients are supported and guided through the recovery process during group therapy. Clients develop individualized treatment plans with their therapists that utilize their individualized strengths, needs, and preferences to develop treatment goals. Each client successfully completing the outpatient or IOP program will develop a comprehensive aftercare plan prior to discharge.
Traditional Outpatient (OPT): Outpatient treatment is designed to support change through a combination of individual and/or group therapy. Those in the outpatient program will attend one to two groups and/or individual sessions weekly. Outpatient services are designed to help those with a solid foundation in recovery continue to achieve their recovery goals. Most individuals who complete IOP continue their recovery process through the Traditional Outpatient Program.
Communication: As an organization, MARS-ATP works to include referral sources, employers, EAPs, family members, and others involved with the care of a client in the treatment process. Communication occurs once an individual being admitted to treatment provides appropriate consent. We view integration and collaboration of treatment as essential, and we work to maintain ongoing communication to support the recovery process.
Comprehensive Assessment: For every individual client seeking treatment or for those with a need for a clinical assessment. Comprehensive assessment includes assessment of an individual in the areas of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual domains. When an employer, legal system, or individual identifies the need for an assessment, the highly trained clinicians at MARS-ATP can provide this service. As appropriate and authorized, we will provide reports of evaluations to the necessary parties. We strive to provide assessment services within twenty four hours of a referral or request for services in order to best use an individual’s initial motivation to seek treatment.
